Beurs Avond Programma

(English below) Dit is een beurs avond programma gemaakt om een beursavond te organiseren op café, of in het jeugdhuis. Het concept is eenvoudig: dranken die veel worden besteld worden duurder, andere goedkoper. Bestellingen worden ingegeven in het programma, dat de prijzen uitgerekend aan de huidige markt prijs. De prijzen worden dan automatisch beïnvloed door deze bestellingen, maar kunnen ook manueel aangepast worden.

Het programma bestaat uit ook uit een tweede scherm, dat als dient om de huidige markt prijzen te projecteren. Indien je dit programma wil gebruiken, gelieve me dan te contacteren.

This is a program that enables you to organise a party where the prices are influenced by the consumation. All you have to do is enter your orders in the program, which will give you the current markt price for the purchased drinks (or other items). By doing this, the program will automatically adapt the prices accordingly, but you can still manually update the prices if you want to. If you want to use this program, please contact me.

Lokwi.com

Lokwi is the successor to the old extremefunnyhumor.com. This site allows users to upload content, rate content and post comments. Lokwi also has an automatic right management system which grants extra rights to users which have high user scores. This way users with very high scores can automatically be granted moderating rights.

Lokwi has a fresh user interface. At the backend-side, Lokwi builds on the framework I created and used to develop sites like beauty-makeup.be and the portfolio site you are on right now.

Beauty-Makeup.be

I created this site for a friend that was starting up a business as beauty specialist. Beauty-makeup.be contains a biography, portfolio, references and the services offered; all available in three languages. It was created using my PHP-MySQL framework I created earlier, and extending it to the needs of this web site.

Mwiels.eu

This portfolio is the one you are on right now. I created this website as an exercise, as I had the time during the long summer vacation. I used the knowledge I obtained during the creation of my final bachelor assignment, to create my own php-framework. This framework implements a custom error-reporting system using exceptions, robust security measures, an extended form-library that manages creation and validation of the form, where the presentation is handled by Smarty-templates. Image uploads and manipulation is also a part of the framework, to make it easy to create resampled thumbnails and to add watermarks.

FileRenamer 1.31

FileRenamer is a tool that I created to make it easy to rename lots of files at once. You can easily rename collections of files with the find/replace-function known from Word. You can also change the letter case or add a prefix and/or a suffix.
This program is created as an exercise for XAML with c# in visual studio. So, you’ll need .NET Framework 3.0 to run it.

Eindwerk

This was my final assignment of my Professional Bachelor training at EHB. Here I created a web application using the J2EE developer environment. I created a small community site using the MVC design pattern. To realize this pattern I used a server running on Tomcat, with Hibernate. Used servlets and tag libraries and much more.

ChiroIris.be

Chiro Iris is the youth movement I was a member of until late 2007. As the design of the original site needed a refresh, we decided that it was time to put our hands together to create a new, fun and young site that would match the Chiro Iris-spirit. One person created the design, making a screenshot in photoshop. Then I used this screenshot to create the site. I separated design from code using Smarty templates. The development of the rest of the site was done together with yet another member of the youth movement.

Roets

Roets is a Flemish historical weekly calendar created by H. Brijssinck. He needed a site with a content management system so that he could update the site by himself. I created this CMS using php-mysql and the GD graphics library to resample the uploaded pictures. I also recreated the design, while keeping the original logo.

Flash portfolio

This site was created for an assignment at Erasmushogeschool Brussel. It was completely created in flash and contains other flash movies I created at that time.

Extreme Funny Humor

This is the first site I ever created: first using plain html in Frontpage, later evolving to a php-mysql application using Dreamweaver. In the glory days, extremefunnyhumor.com got up to 30,000 unique visitors per day. It's by making this site that I got my experience in php-mysql, general security & efficiency and server management.
